"Compound I"

"Compound I" proposed structure/dimensions

Dimensions for the ‘Compound I’ are approximate at this stage.

If  it is determined that the underlying frame needs to be a full geodesic sphere (for structural integrity), the bottom curve will be buried and anchored under the desert surface with rebar or angle iron. If a 5/9 or 6/9 geodesic dome is more suitable, the structure will rest on the Playa surface, to be anchored with rebar.

Middle  3′ sphere: Resin, fiberglass, acrylic mirrors. Hand-made

Top 1′ sphere: Mirror-polished hollow steel.

Finial: Steel and acrylic. Between 12″ – 18″
